No match stats available, so I watched the whole match again just to record these (may not be accurate though.. I did daze off a few times during the match).
– Goal.com: Malaysia XI 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur: Easy win for the Londoners
– Sportsmole: (26 min) A one-two between Winks and Townsend almost leaves the latter clean through on goal, but Winks’ chip to the midfielder was a fraction overhit, allowing Khairul to rush off his line and claim it. Townsend in particular has been really impressive so far this afternoon.
– Kane may have scored the goals, but Townsend has probably been the best player on the pitch in the first half, proving himself near-impossible to mark down the right flank.
Nowhere near what we saw. Time to sack these journalists!
– (32 min): Despite Spurs seemingly in complete control, the home side are back on level terms. Malaysia XI have a free kick, which Indra Putra Mahyuddin curls in towards Thiago Juninho. The defender is being marked by Danny Rose, and the Tottenham man gets to it first, but can’t avoid turning it into his own net. The stadium announcer actually CREDITS the goal to Juninho, but it was definitely Rose who got the last touch.
– (74th min): The first yellow card of the game goes to Erik Lamela as he catches Syamin Yahya down the inside of his thigh with his studs. That was a nasty looking clash, and it’s left the Malaysia winger in quite some pain.
That’s the only contribution by Lamela.

My MOTM too. One of the brightest prospects from our academy alongside Winks and Pritchard.

Mason and Luke McGee are the only unused subs.

– A Malaysian fan group’s protest against Premier League clubs organising lucrative friendly matches in the country appears to have been effective, with only 19,000 tickets sold for Tottenham Hotspur’s fixture on Wednesday.
19,000 divided by 80,000. That’s only 23.75% of the stadium covered.

Mason: Hopefully lots of goals. We want to put on a show and make it a great spectacle. I’ve not been here before so I’m excited to visit a new part of the world.

– Bleacher Report: With Dele Alli due to arrive this summer, not to mention Winks and Josh Onomah impressing in Malaysia, Pochettino might prefer to develop this younger crop of midfielders and get a fee for Carroll while he can.

– DNA India: After scoring 31 goals in all competitions for Spurs, Kane kept up his prolific form with a brace in the 2-1 win over a Malaysian XI in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
Add on to the two he scored in Malaysia, that will be 33 goals in 52 matches (63.46% scoring rate).
And last but not list…
– No. 7 of the Malaysia XI team was the name Ashfaq Ali.
And that’s the screamings we (LOS) heard from his Maldives supporters. Although they made it sound like “Assfuck” or “Ashfuck” LOL.
Million thanks to Ravin Nair for sponsoring the tickets, and of course the Legion-ers who made this possible. Boring match indeed, but a dream come true for me who have only watched Spurs from the TV and the laggy live stream. Enjoyed every bit of the trip with everyone.
